Built 1910, the historic Fort Ward bakery building served the Coast Artillery Corps garrison at Fort Ward. During WW2, it was repurposed as a power station to support the radio intercept activities at top secret Station S. The building was restored for community use through a partnership of Bainbridge Island Metro Parks, Kitsap County (Fort Ward) Sewer District No. 7, and the Friends of Fort Ward neighborhood group. For event information, please email sarahleebainbridge@gmail.com We hope to see you there!

Kitsap County Sewer District #7 treats sewage for about 650 homes and businesses located both inside and outside the district. Outside the district boundaries, our water reclamation facility provides sewage treatment for Lynwood Center, Rockaway Beach, Captain Johnston Blakely Elementary School, Pleasant Beach, Point White and Emerald Heights through an Interlocal Agreement with the City of Bainbridge Island.
Our Mission: “To provide reliable wastewater services at a reasonable rate through thoughtful effective planning, efficient operation, and diligent administration. To be environmental stewards by meeting or exceeding discharge standards.”
How we are governed
KCSD#7 is chartered under state law and is governed by a board of three commissioners, who are elected to six year terms by district voters. Commissioners are responsible for managing the district operations and setting policies.
The Board of Commissioners meets publicly on the second Thursday of each month at 7:00 PM. While our district office at the Fort Ward Bakery continues to be renovated, these public meeting will be held at 2017 Belfair Avenue NE, Bainbridge Island, WA. IMPORTANT: meeting location is subject to change. Please check our website or call (206) 669-5723, twenty-four hours prior to any meeting to confirm the location.
